WELCOME  STUDENT AIDES!

This website is designed to assist all HCHS/HCIB student aides in fulfilling all requirements of the class.  Below, you will see a series of links and important announcements.  Please check back to this website periodically to ensure you are fulfilling all requirements and meeting all deadlines to get an "A."

IMPORTANT NEWS!

We are coming up to the end of the year!  Whew!  We made it!  Seniors, congratulations, you are about to graduate from high school and go on to bigger and better things!

First, though, there is the matter of the final exam for the student aide class.  IB Seniors are exempt from the final exam because of their IB exams; however, if you are an IB senior and choose to do the letter, it can only help your GPA and final grade.

Due to unresolved issues with the servers and bandwidth, we will NOT be doing a final exam on the internet for student aides.  Instead, each of you will be asked to write about your experience working as a student aide and you will be graded using the rubric below attached in the link below.  Seniors, because you are the FIRST group to do finals, your essay will be due to Mr. Wynne by

TUESDAY MAY 15th (no later than 2:30pm!) - SENIORS

For Juniors, your essay will be due by THURSDAY MAY 31st (no later than 2:30pm!)  - JUNIORS

For this essay, you will submit it via email to charles.wynne@polk-fl.net.  If you DO NOT have access to the internet or a computer, you may submit a paper essay; however, it MUST be legible and clearly have your name, student ID number, student aide teacher, and DATE written at the top.

FINAL ESSAY IMPORTANT NOTES

Directions:  The essay you are writing should be a letter to a future student aide placed in your position.  For instance, if you work in the 9th grade Media Center, you should write about your job responsibilities, the type of people you work with, what advice you have for a future 9th grade Media Center student aide, and factual information about your daily duties all written with attention to accuracy and detail.  The letter/essay should be at LEAST 251 words in length to even POSSIBLY receive an 'A.'  You may ask your supervising teacher for help with writing the letter/essay, as they can help you with different duties they gave you over the semester/year.

See below (picture) for the rubric:
